Lutz Auction Center Christmas Party

Last night was had the annual Lutz Auction Center Christmas Party. This year, my parents decided to not go out to a restaurant, but rather host it at the auction center. They thought this would be best for Maddie and Jake so that they could run around and play. My parents couldn't throw a party without a theme, so they picked a Hawaiian theme. It turned out to be lots of fun for all. My mom claims that Sam's club did all the work, but I think she deserves more credit than that. She had great appetizers and the main course was great also. We can't wait to go to their house for Sunday night dinner tonight because we will get to try out the leftovers.
BEST OUTFIT! This is my cousin Delmar and his wife Melinda. They went all out on their outfits.
Jake loves to get pushed around on the green cart. Aunt Heidi is taking her turn pushing Jake around.
This is Maddie relaxing after eating lots for dinner!
Maddie and Jake looked so cute riding on their fish toys!
My dad kept busy running the bar. He even got a few dollars in tips. The best part was dad wore tennis shoes. Lots of people didn't recognize him because they had never seen him in tennis shoes before. My dad is always the life of the party. You know even if you are hosting, you go to bed around 8:30. Jake decided he should wake grandpa up. Soon after that dad went home to go to bed, while the party was still going. We can't wait to see what the theme is next year!

Ready for Potty Training??

On Monday, Scott and I took the day off work to do some Christmas shopping. While we were out I picked up a pack of Elmo and Minnie Mouse panties for Maddie. She found them in my room on Tuesday and insisted she put a pair on. Then she tried on Daddy's new work shoes. I hope she is this excited about wearing her panties when we try potty training in a couple of weeks.

9 Week Check-up

On Monday, I went see Dr. Kick for my 9 week check-up. Dr. Kick said that everything is looking good. I had told myself going into this visit that I might not hear the heartbeat yet, but we did. It was so exciting!

Feeding the Elmos

I just had to put this picture of Maddie doing one of her favorite things. She loves to push her grocery cart around, then take a break to give her "Red Elmo" and "Blue Elmo" a snack and a drink. She even saves more for herself. Today when she got done feeding her Elmos, she even had some extra food to share with "Mom-my". It is so exciting to see how much her level of pretend play and language grows daily!

Fall Leaves

A few Saturdays ago, we worked ALL day trying to get all of the leaves raked and mulched. It was fun to see how much Maddie loved playing in the leaves. She worked outside with Scott and I the entire morning. It helped that she had the important job of keeping an eye on Sadie, the dog. Here are a few pictures of Maddie jumping in the leaves, if you look close enough you will notice she is keeping a tight grip on Sadie's leash.

Welcome to the Ruwe Blog

After my sister-in-law, Aimee started a blog about a year ago, I have been wanting to find the time to start one also. I think it is a great way to keep track of all of the big and little things that go on in our household. The Ruwe Enquirer will be a dairy that the Ruwe children can read someday.

So Scott and I thought it would only be appropriate to start off the Ruwe Enquirer with a really big headline! The Ruwe family is expecting family member number four! After having a medium moment, my Grandpa Oehlman told me in a dream on October 2, that all this was going to happen, it was confirmed on November 2 at the doctor's office. So it is only fitting that this baby is due on July 11, 2010, my grandpa's birthday. We do not plan on finding out the sex of this baby, but Scott and I both have a strong feeling that it is going to be a boy, because this baby's guardian angel has been making some pretty good predictions thus far.

Last night, Maddie wore her big sister shirt to my parent's house so we could share the big news with everyone. I think Aunt Amanda was the most excited. She had the loudest scream, when she read the t-shirt. Of course, Aunt Heidi didn't get it at first, but was quick to catch on! Aunt Heidi said that she would have liked it if we would have waited at least 2 more months before we told her, because now she has to wait 8 more months.

So that is what has been going on in the Ruwe household this week. I hope to post at least 2 times a week, so check back often.
