Liam is 6 Weeks!

On Monday, Liam and I had our 6 week check-up. Liam now weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces and is 23.5 inches long. On Monday night Liam started sleeping in his crib in his bedroom. He was just getting too big for his bassinet. That is working out pretty well. I am only having to get up to nurse him at 2:00 a.m. and then 5-5:30 a.m. and then he will sleep until about 8 or 8:30 a.m. Hopefully, he will continue to stretch these times out so we both can get more and more sleep.

Dr. Kick couldn't get over how much head control he has for his size and age. This morning, I had him laying on his tummy for a few minutes and he began to hold his head up. I think he will be smiling soon. He seems to be attempting it often.

Heidi & Kyle's Wedding Day!

When I woke up on Saturday, I was a little concerned because it was raining. However, it ended up working out alright, because the rain cleared away by 3:00 so the boys could start taking pictures. The whole day went off without a hitch and Heidi made a stunning bride! The whole family had lots of fun!

Maddie went to Tedesco's to get her hair down at 2:00. Tina had told me at our last appointment that she wanted to put Maddie's hair up and I just did not know how this was going to turn out, but I absolutely LOVED the way it turned out.

The bridal party hung out in Randy and Amanda's house until it was time for the wedding to start, while my dad and Heidi sat in my mom's orange truck back at there house. My dad drove the truck over to the wedding and helped Heidi out and then walked her down the aisle. This is the only picture I have of this, sorry it is not that good.

Here is my dad giving his 'Heidi baby' away.

Maddie thought it would be a good idea to stand up on the platform with Heidi and Kyle while they were doing their vows. I also thing that Heidi and Kyle are the first couple I have seen clap after they have exchanged vows!
Maddie and Jake had a great time dancing at the reception. They were really getting down.

We had to get our traditional wedding pictures taken with the Blasdel family! For Heidi's wedding, Lainey and I decided to get our picture taken with our little girls. This is the first family wedding since they were born. Maybe they will grow up to be best friends also!

Here are the six Lutz/Blasdel kids!
Here are our parents! I thought my mom just looked so beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen her with her hair up. It looked great!!

It was a wonderful wedding day for Heidi and Kyle! The Ruwe family can't wait to hear about their honeymoon.

Aunt Heidi's Pre-Wedding Party

Maddie has been getting so excited for Aunt Heidi's wedding on Saturday. She knows exactly what everyone in the family is going to wear and loves to talk about 'Aunt Heidi's party on Friday and Saturday." As you can see from the pictures, Heidi's setting for her wedding is going to be beautiful! After the wedding practice, Scott and I took the kids back to our house, where Nana put Liam and Maddie to bed, while Scott and I had our first meal without children in 5 1/2 weeks. It was pretty nice to have a hot dinner where we could actually talk about what we wanted to talk about!!

I had to snap a pic of Liam all dressed up! This is his first time wearing shoes also!
I thought this picture shows how excited Maddie was to be a part of Aunt Heidi's big day!

Maddie did a pretty good job of walking down the aisle at practice. She got frustrated with Jake because he ran away from her. So we will see what happens on the big day, when the seats are filled!

Here is a family picture we snapped. I thought the background of the lake and my parent's house turned out to be a beautiful setting!

Liam at 5 Weeks

Two weeks ago Scott went to cousin Joe's house to do some dry wall repair, so the kids and I decided to take a trip over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to see if they needed any help getting things ready for Aunt Heidi's wedding. It was super hot, even for 6:30 in the evening, so I got out a sunhat for Liam. I quickly discovered that I didn't have a boy sunhat, so Liam went to the farm in one of Maddie's. Daddy thought this was funny, but asked that he try to buy him a boy sunhat.

I can't believe how fast Liam is growing! He is wearing his wiggle worm shirt, which describes him fairly well. He is starting to wiggle and stretch more and more!

Bill Cosby would love our house

Now it's time for everyone's favorite segment, the Maddie quote of the day!
-When asked if she wants some lettuce on her chicken sandwich like daddy:

"I don't want lettuce. It's too spicy."

St. Leon Fireman's Festival

On Saturday, after church we headed to the St. Leon Fireman's Festival. We ate dinner, then Maddie played a few games. She knew which games she wanted to play because she had been to the festival on Friday night also. Grandma and Grandpa took her and Jake to the festival to play games. She must have done well, because she came home with lots of prizes!
This is Maddie when we got home from the festival. She is enjoying her sucker that she won at a game.

Firefighter Maddie!

A couple of weeks ago, Maddie went to a Vacation Bible School that was all about safety. She learned a lot about fire safety and she even got her own firefighter hat when the firefighters came to visit the church. She is so funny when she wears it. I just love to listen to her pretend play when she wears the hat!

Last Thursday, we had our hair appointments at Tedesco's and Tina put Maddie's hair into two french braids. She looked so grown up, that I just had to take a picture of her. I hope she sits that well for Tina when she does her hair for Heidi's wedding next week.

Liam at 4 weeks

Liam had a really busy week. He went to school with me for the day so I could set up the classroom. He stayed really content. I was able to work from 10:00 until 5:00 and got the whole room set up. Maddie enjoyed spending the day with her Aunt Deysi, Uncle Nathan, Laura and Edward. She had lots of stories when she got home that evening. Liam seems to be noticing his hands this week.

Maddie decided the other night that she wanted to give Liam a piggy back ride, so here is a picture of that activity. It was funny how Liam really looked like he was holding on.

Liam at 3 Weeks

At 3 weeks, Liam is doing well. He is really starting to be more alert and you can tell he is noticing things about his environment. When Maddie puts toys in his face he is focusing on them.

Last week, I was making lunch and when I came downstairs to check on Liam, this is what I found. Maddie told me that she thought Liam wanted to play with his elephant and giraffe. She is such a great big sister!!

I just had to post this picture that Scott took of Liam sleeping. Nothing is cuter than a sleeping baby picture!
