The Play Room Project

During the middle of January, we decided to transform our "extra room" into a playroom for the kids. These pictures show it go from Blah to Wow. ("Wow" is the catch phrase Maddie uses to tell about anything new or different.) This is Maddie helping Daddy take down all the trim so he can start dry walling.

This room was our catch-all room. We were storing mattresses down here for my aunt, etc. So we had lots of pitching and sorting to do. (I am embarrassed of this picture.)

This is our "professional" dry waller, Daddy Scott, finishing the drywall. I am so glad he hung drywall in high school and college because it has come in handy several times since we became home owners.

Let the painting begin! Maddie has been waiting to paint since we started this project so we had to let her have a turn. She did a great job. She did it in typical Maddie fashion, exact and not messy at all!

Here is the finished project! Maddie loves it! I am sure that Maddie and Liam are going to get many, many hours of fun out of this room plus there are not toys randomly laying around the house. I LOVE THAT!

This organization system started as a Pottery Barn catalog picture and I took it to a local wood worker and he formatted it to make it ours. If anyone needs any custom work done, please let me know because I have a good recommendation!

  1. The room looks AMAZING!! Yes, please do share the woodworking name... we are beginning a big renovation and I'm sure we'll need someone along the way.
